Synopsis:

De De Pyaar De 2 is a sequel to the 2019 hit romantic comedy and continues the unconventional love story of Ashish Mehra (Ajay Devgn), a charming 52-year-old London-based investor, and his gorgeous and lively girlfriend Ayesha Khurana (Rakul Preet Singh) . Now very serious about each other, Ashish is all set to take the next big step to win over Ayesha's family. What should, in most cases, be a simple meet and greet, is about to become a rather comedic and curious tussle of **wit, comedy, and perspective**, after Ayesha's father, Rajji (R. Madhavan), discovers that Ashish is almost his age. From polite to doubtful, to skeptical, to gentle mocking, turning with every passing second. Ashish is forced to deal with awkward dinners, rude questions, and shameless tests of character, where he will have to defend his love, age, and future with Ayesha to Ayesha's family. Meanwhile Ayesha is forced to deal with the family's expectations, especially with her father who seems to be the one scouring for a new love interest, almost to break up the couple, creating immense comedic tension for Ashish and testing his confidence, patience, and dignity. As the couple navigates the tensions of familial expectations, profound societal failures, and the comedic chaos of the age-old contradiction of love and societal norms, the film masterfully depicts age as just a constraint, breaking the bounds of love to rise above societal expectations in a purely comedic manner. Set against the stunning backdrops of London and Punjab, De De Pyaar De 2 weaves together romance, generational and cultural conflicts, and blends all of them into a warm and frequently funny tale of contemporary love, familial relationships and the guardianship of both.
