Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a dedicated historian that comes across an ancient manuscript associated with the town's vapiric spirit legends. He finds himself in the town of Vijaynagar, a town well-known for its myths and whispers of the supernatural. Tadaka changes Alok and as he is drawn to Tadaka he begins to gain new attributes just like her. He becomes a betal, a mythical and arcane creature imbued with very high evil powers. Tadaka and Alok's complicated interactions evolve and as a result, the story explores questions of love, sacrifice, and destiny, and these reflect in the laughter, the horror, and the chaos of the moments that keep changing. Thamma blends romance with supernatural thrill and the result of that mixture, along with the vibrant, blended elements of contemporary fantasy, both the horror and the comedic relief, and the valiant modern folklore, is a tapestry of the Hindi Cinema Mythos. It is the ancient myth contemporary world of human experience/ aeons, where destiny and desire collide, surrounded with the vibrant chemistry and effects of the world and universe, and the carefully crafted Indian Cinema sub-genre with effects constructed into the Indian Seamless Cinema la.
